FAQ

AUTOMOTIVE GLASS

Q: Can you make rock chips invisible?

A: No, visual clarity is dependent on many factors. The age of the damage, moisture and contamination are all factors affecting the final appearance. We can usually make the damage 70-90% less visable.

Q: Do you work with insurance companies?

A: Yes. Rainbow Auto Glass is an approved vendor with all major insurance companies.

Q: How much does windshield replacement cost?

A: Prices vary greatly depending on the year, make and model of your car.
Q. How do I know your glass and installation is safe?

A. All our replacement glass meets Federal Standard Specifications. We use only Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) adhesives and all installations are done to Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standards (AGRSS).

Q. Do I have to use the shop my insurance company recommends?

A. No, you can use any shop you wish. You are protected by California's right to choose law governing auto repair.

Q. Do you provide mobile service?

A. No, and for some very good reasons, the most important of which is your SAFETY! We do all of our installations in a controlled shop environment. All windshields are set by 2 technicans assuring proper fit and finish. We use only the "full cut" method, meaning a complete new adhesive system is used vs. "shortcut" where the mobile installer leaves the majority of the old urethane on the car an tops it with a very thin layer of new.
Q. How large can the chip be so I do not need to replace the entire windshield?

A. For safety reasons we do not repair damage larger than a quarter. This repair takes 1 hour or less.

Q. How long do you have my car for windshield replacement?

A. We typically have your car from 4 to 6 hours depending on the complexity of the installation. For safety reasons it is recommended that the adhesive cures for a specific amount of time.
